Your Local Funeral Plan is part of Stanley J Nicholas Ltd. We are an independent funeral director based in Blackwood, South Wales. We offer plans to the surrounding community held in Trust by Golden Charter which secure our funeral services.

Yes. Our plans are available to all members of the community and we do not take age or health into consideration. If you choose to pay by low cost instalments then you must be 78 or under when you apply. If you choose fixed monthly payments then you must be aged between 50 and 80 and a UK resident. There are no maximum or minimum age limits if choosing to pay by single payment or by 12 monthly payments.

We offer payment by instalment on all our plans, however, to qualify for an instalment payment schedule, you must fall into a certain age bracket, depending on what type of plan you decide on.

  • For our low cost instalment plan you must be under 78 years of age when the plan is taken out
  • Our fixed monthly payment schedule is open to applicants aged between 50 – 80 years

You will receive written documentation confirming the details of the plan you have purchased.

You can cancel the plan subject to terms and conditions outlined in your documentation. If you cancel within 30 days, we will refund the payment made against the plan.  For further details of cancellation terms, please refer to the terms and conditions.

All our plans secure the services of Stanley J Nicholas Ltd.

In the unlikely event that Stanley J Nicholas Ltd goes out of business, you will be able to discuss reallocating your plan to an alternative funeral director. All payments against the plan are held in Trust and protected.

During the consultation, we will discuss your needs and you can make special requests. These can incur extra costs which will be added to the cost of your chosen plan.

Your plan will have it’s own unique reference number. When you die your family need to call the chosen funeral director and quote the reference number, it’s that simple. Once the funeral director has been notified, they will take care of all the arrangements.

If you are planning to spend time abroad, we advise that you have in place a travel or medical insurance policy that will cover repatriation costs back to the UK. Your plan will not cover these additional costs. 

Yes. If required, you have the option to transfer your plan for the funeral of another family member if they die before you. Please note, this option is not available for plans paid for by fixed monthly payments. Also, be aware that there may be additional costs if the funeral arrangements are different to those agreed in the original plan.

This will depend on the type of plan and the payment method. Please refer to your funeral plan terms and conditions for more information.

It is possible to purchase a plan for somebody else. You will need to complete the relevant field on the paper work when purchasing the plan to ensure all the documents are sent to you. We can discuss the process with you at your consultation.

 

If you move out of the area you must inform us and we will arrange for your plan to be transferred to the new funeral director.
